NEW ATOM BOMB TESTS
(Rec. 7 p.m.) WASHINGTON, August 28The United States Atomic Energy Commission announced to-day that a new series of tests will be conducted soon in Nevada. It said that it had “authorised a programme of experimental detonations of both ordinary high explosives and nuclear explosives to begin In the near future.' The United Press said that the experiments were apparently designed to perfect streamlined atomic charges for the artillery shells and the guided missiles which were involved in the earlier Nevada tests.
