ENTRIES TOTAL 465 (Hew Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 29. Entries fcr the twenty-sixth national sale of New Zealand thoroughbred year’ings, to be held at Trentham in January, total 465—243 colts and 222 Allies. Last year 849 lots were entered and 457 catalogued. This year’s entries represent 77 stallions and 224 individual vendors.
Gold Nib, with 24 lots, heads the sire representation, and Balloch, from the same stud, is second with 20 lots. Others with double-figure lots are Moorcock 18, Pherozshah 15, Foxbridge, Royal Chief, Timanova, and Underwood, each 14; Fair's Fair, Isaac of York, and Milling, each 13: Admiral's Luck, 12; Columcille, Knockout 11, Red Mars, and Ruthless, each 11; Paper Boy and Sun King, each 16. The 19 new sires represented by their first crops are Able Seaman (5 lots), Bose Boissel (4). Cassock (5), Equipped (5), Knockout II (11), Landacre (6), Lucky Jordan (1), Majesty (4), Moorcock (18), Nawab (1), Newtown Pippin (2), Pont d"Or (5), Sabaean (7), Safakeda (4), Solferino (1), Speeder (3).
