OBITUARY
FATHER J. J. SEYMOUR (New Zealand Press Association) HASTINGS, August 29. The death occurred at the Roman Catholic Presbytery this week of the Rev. Father John Joseph Seymour, S.M. He was 57. Father Seymour had been ill for some time. He had been assistant-parish priest at Hastings for the last 10 years. . „ , Father Seymour was born in Nelson and educated at Nelson Convent School and St. Patrick’s College. Wellington. It was mainly through his efforts that the Hastings Convent memorial baths and the Convent Girls’ High School were built. He was interested in aviation and held a pilot’s licence.
