“Fair Go” writes: “I was disgusted to read the report in your paper of the Canterbury v. Otago Rugby game and to be told that Hotop is not up to standard. I would suggest that your sporting writer should alter his views, as he appears to be the only one holding them. Hotop’s passes were, with one exception, perfect. On only one occasion was his opposite able to pass him, and then Hotop was round and after him smartly. His covering work is all that is required."
