SEWER CONNEXIONS
Sir,—As the recent loan was fully and over-subscribed, could not earnest consideration be given to hastening on the sewer connexions in some of the new residential areas of “the garden city of Christchurch." This issue is an important health matter and of interest to everyone. At the end of Weston road and Ranger street, where so many new homes have been built, costing up to £3OOO and over, there is an urgent need for this matter to be gone into. That district will become one bf our main highways, linking up with the direct north road of Christchurch. ~ YO 'U^ PROGRESS. Aug. 10, 1951. [The engineer of the Christchurch Drainage Board (Mr E. F. Scott), to whom this letter was referred, said that the correspondent appeared to be referring to the Government loan, the connexion of sewers to the housing block, and the city’s northern outlet. The questions were irrelevant, and insofar as they concerned the Drainage Board he was unable to make any specific comment.]
