SALVATION ARMY CONGRESS

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 13. Lieutenant-Commissioner R. A. Hoggard, leader of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, will preside over his first Dominion conference of Salvationists in Wellington next week. Subjects to be discussed during the congress, which begins on Wednesday night, include the moral and social problems arising from the increasing consumption of alcoholic liquor and the need for moving Salvation Army citadels from areas that have become industrialised to new housing settlements. Bands and choirs of the Army Will hold a festival in the Town Hall on Saturday. Meetings will be held there on the Sunday and the congress will end next night with a demonstration programme by young people of the Army.
