DONEGAL’S WIN AT RANDWICK (From the Sydney Correspondent of „ , • * SYDNEY, April 9. Maurice McCarten, the former New Zealand trainer, produced the winner of the Denman Stakes, of six furlongs, at Rand- _ wick on Saturday. The race was won by Donegal, an Imported horse, which has won races in. France, England, and AusJa— ~s- .< Donegal carfied Sst. Mb. He had a had start, but won with a brilliance that compared with the. performances of Bernborough and other horses of similar standard. Mr M. J. Moodabe's three-year-old New Zealand colt, Sea Wolf, also trained by McCarten, failed by a length to beat the favourite, Great World, in the City Tattersail’s Club Handicap, run over 10 furlongs. Sea Wolf is racing particularly well. He seems likely to hold nis form, because he pulled up brightly, in spite of the hard campaign he has had. . c 2 lr ! y° un ßer brother. Sea Hawk, had his first Australian start. He was unplaced in the Juvenile Handicap, a race over six furlongs, for two-year-old colts and geldings. They were the only New Zealand horses racing at Randwick on Saturday. New Zealand horses had a day off in Melbourne, but the former New Zealand owner, Mr W. R. Kemball, again had good fortune, this time with Wessex, a colt by Rogerstone Castle, which won the seven-furlong Neerim Handicap. J£ e ? ex r Mden by S.
