CYCLIST’S TROPHIES SEIZED
CUSTOMS ACTION AT LONDON LONDON, January 11. The “Daily Mail” says that the cycling champion, Alan Cannister, had to hand over all the trophies he won in Christchurch at the Centennial Games to the Customs when he landed at London from New Zealand. They included a gold watch awarded when he won all four sprint events in international cycle racing. The Customs must make snecial dispensation exempting them from duty before he will be allowed to have them.
