ARMY NURSING SERVICE
CHRISTCHURCH SISTER’S APPOINTMENT Sister Rona Irene Rich, of Hillsborough. Christchurch, and Sister Elsie Doreen Kemp, of Hamilton, have been granted short service commissions in the Regular Force section of the New Zealand Army Nursing Service for a period of one year. They will both have the rank of sister in the New Zealand Regular Force. There are at present only a few nurses in the regular nursing service in New Zealand, and Sisters Rich and Kemp are the first to be appointed in the South Island. They have been posted to the Burnham Military Camp Hospital. Both of them have been on the staff of the hospital during the training of the Territorial Forca and K Force recruits.
