WOOL MARKETING

Sir,—A good deal of propaganda is being indulged in to allow the United States to purchase the wool they require. without competing at the auctions in Australia and New Zealand. According to Mr Doidge. the dollar is worth 7s 2d in New Zealand currency. and 9s in Australian. They can therefore buy all they require at a much lower figure than any of their competitors. New Zealand desperately needs all the dollars it can get. and if the United States’ competition is absent at the public auctions it must mean lower prices—Yours, etc., F. G, SAVILLE. Fairlie. November 1, 1950.
