Only a few days ago we read about the Canterbury! Education Board asking for Minister -! ial assistance in getting a site for their i new secondary school. Would you please explain the position: are there] now two bodies in charge of second-; ary education in Christchurch?—Your*. I etc., TWO MANY COOKS. November 1, 1950. (“The Canterbury Education Board has nothing to do with the control of post-primary schools in the metropolitan area,” said the secretary-mana-ger of the board (Mr L. S. P. Butcher). "It is concerned only with primary schools and the district high schools attached to them. The metropolitan post-primary schools are controlled by the Christchurch Post-primary Schools Board of Governors. In general, all post-primary schools outside the city area have their own boards of governors.”]
