BUDGET DEBATE
END MAY BE DELAYED TILL NEXT WEEK (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, September 18. The funeral of the Bishop of Aotearoa (the Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett) at Ohinemutu on Thursday will require a change .in the programme of the House of Representatives this week. The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) had hoped to wind up the Budget debate on Wednesday night, but it is now likely that the debate will not be concluded until early next week. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Maori Affairs (Mr E. B. Corbett) will fly to Rotorua on Thursday. The leader of the Opposition (Mr Fraser) will travel by train on Wednesday evening. Unless suitable arrangements can oe made between the whips of the two parties the financial debate is likely to continue until next week.
