Lifting of Tram Lines
The lifting of the tram lines in Fendalton had been completed, and at present the top-dressing was being finished, said the chairman (Mr J. E. Jones) at a meeting of the Christchurch Tramway Board yesterday. In Opawa. the board’s staff had reached Gasson street, he said. Unfortunately there had been a delay at the junction there. A traction eng'ne Ind gone over a manhole, which had collapsed, and the Drainage Board was building a new one. In a fortnight there would probably be little work left to do.
