ROLLS FOR LOCAL ELECTIONS
COUNCIL TO HASTEN PRINTING
Tlie byelaws and finance committee of the City Council will attempt to hasten the printing of the rolls for the local body elections in November. It will also advise the public that enrolment is compulsory. Moving these resolutions at a meeting of the council last evening, Cr. R. M. Macfarlane, M.P., said that it was desirable that the rolls should be printed and available to the public for at least 3 week or two before the election.
The Town Clerk (Mr H. S. Feast) said there had been great difficulty in getting the rolls printed this year, and he could not say when they would be ready. Enrolments for the supplementary roll were being taken now.
