HOLES IN HAGLEY PARK

Sir, —I am sure the visiting hockey players and their friends enjoy viewing the bomb holes in the pathway, or should I say bullock track skirting the playing fields in South Hagley Park. Perhaps our reserves department would consider placing names on each site—so much more interesting, you know. I advise councillors not to go there; they might disappear. Yours, etc., NUMBSKULL. August 25, 1950. [The town clerk (Mr H. S. Feast) had no comment to make on this letter.]
