MAORI CENTENNIAL TOURNAMENT PROVINCIAL TEAMS AND DRAW The draw for the Maori Centennial Rugi>v tournament, to be held in Christchurch next Saturday, is: Canterbury v. South Canterbury; Otago v. ROPER ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT (New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, September 6. R. A. Roper, the Taranaki and All Black centre three-quarters, has retired from Rugby football. He injured a knee cartilage in a match at Eltham last Saturday, and this will prevent him from playing for the rest of this season. He said tonight that he intended to retire.
