MIGRANTS TO N.Z.

ATLANTIS NOW ON SIXTH VOYAGE

(Rec. 10 p.m.) PERTH, September 6. Rechristened “the stork ship,” because of the birth of 62 babies on her last return trip to Britain, the liner Atlantis reached Fremantle to-day on another voyage to New Zealand. She carries 898 British migrants, including about 100 fare-paying passengers.

So far she has made six trips to New Zealand with unmarried migrants, but from now on married couples with up to two children are being accepted by the New Zealand Government.

The passengers include the 'former North of England bantamweight champion, Joe Bainbridge, aged 56. Who 30 years ago beat the champions of Canada, Scotland, and Wales. With his wife and son he is going to New Zealand to join two daughters who migrated 12 months ago.
