EFFICIENCY BONUS AIDS PRODUCTION The Lancashire spinning industry has set up a new yarn production record for the second successive week. In the last week of April, according to the Cotton Board, it passed the previous 10-year peak established 'in the previous week by 60,0001 b. The total weight of cotton, cotton waste, spun rayon, and mixture yarns turned out in the week was 21,240.0001 b, an improvement of 1.290,0001 b on the corresponding week last year. This brings the total production for the 17 weeks ended April 29 to 344.420.0001 b. against 320,560,0001 b for the same period ol 1949. , Firms in 15 • mill .towns have adopted .•'.'•stein lot- cotton and rayon weavers, based on the recommendations of die cotton Manufacturing Commission, inis provides minimum earnings of £3 15s weekly, plus an efficiency bonus.
