FIVE WESTERN UNION POWERS (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 5. The Paris correspondent _of the “Daily Mail” says that the Foreign Ministers of the five Brussels Treaty Powers —Britain, Belgium, France, Holland. and Luxembourg—are expected to sign this week-end a convention linking their social security schemes into one comprehensive “cradle-to-the-grave” network. Under the convention each country would treat the nationals of the other four on the same basis as its own citizens for social and medical assistance. The scheme would cover benefits for sickness, invalidity, old age, death, maternity, and industrial injuries and occupational diseases.
