CONSULTATIONS ON MELBOURNE CUP
DUNEDIN, November 5. Six members of the maintenance staff of the Sawyers Bay Tanneries accepted very calmly this morning the news of their win of £50,000 in Tattersails second Melbourne Cup consultation. The ticket was in the name of “Carisbrook 6,” Sawyers Bay. The prize-winners are Messrs H. G. Wilson, J. H. Woodward, D. I. Gray, T. A. Harkness. G. T. Abrahams, and J. Berland. They all intended to continue in their present jobs. The first prize of £50,000 in the first consultation went to Mr W. R. Healy, of Taita, and Mrs M. Neave, of Lower Hutt, states a Press Association message from Wellington. Both work in a laundry at Petone. and share the nom de plume “Lucky June,” chosen by Mr Healy, who moved into a State house in June after 14 years’ wait
