COMMUNIST CONVICTED OF SEDITION (Rec. 9 p.m.) SYDNEY. October 12. Laurence Louis Sharkey, general secretary of the Australian Communist Party, said to-day that his lawyers were considering seeking leave to* appeal to the Privy Council against his conviction on a charge of uttering seditious words. Sharkey, who is on bail of £lOOO, will appear before Mr Justice Dwyer on Monday for sentence.
