Matches in the championship singles events were continued at the West Coast Croquet Association annual tournament at Greymouth yesterday in overcast Iveather. Results were as follows: — Handicap Doubles.—First round: Mrs McCracken (Christchurch) and Mrs Ray (Greymouth) beat Mesdames Warnes and Lambert (Greymouth), 26-22. Championship Singles.—First life, first round: Mrs Hoskins (Christchurch) beat Mrs Rhodes (Dunedin), 26-21; Mrs Howard (Runanga) beat Mrs McCracken (Christchurch), 26-23; Mrs Nicholls (Christchurch) beat Mrs Slee (Westport), 26-19. Second round: Mrs Bull (Christchurch) beat Mrs Hawke (Christchurch) by default; Petty (Nelson) beat Mrs Shannon (Greymouth). 26-16; Mrs Wilson (Runanga) beat Mrs Hooper (Greymouth), 26-20; Petty beat Mrs Bull, 26-18. Second life—First round: Mrs Dickie (Christchurch) beat Mrs Hawke (Christchurch) by default; Mrs Martin (Christchurch) beat Miss McDowell (Ashburton), 26-6.
