KAREN REVOLT IN BURMA
GOVERNMENT SUCCESSES CLAIMED (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) RANGOON, Feb. 19. Burmese Government troops have recaptured from the Karen rebels the Gyogon railway station, a mile south of Insein, after a lull in heavy fighting in the area, says a special communique issued by the War Office. The communique also claims the recapture of Karne. a village two miles north of Insein. It says that sporadic firing continues near Sawbwagyone, where Government forces are now strongly entrenched. The troops earlier quelled a Karen attack in the area.
