BRITISH ARMS FOR SIAM
IMMEDIATE SUPPLY APPROVED COUNTER TO COMMUNIST ACTIVITY (Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 19. Britain has agreed to supply ■ arms immediately to eijuip five misery divisions of the Siamese Army. says Reuter’s diplomatic correspondent. The decision fits into the general framework of collaboration between the British and Siamese Governments against Communist-armed activity in South-east Asia,' particularly in the Malay-Siam frontier area. Recommendations were recently received by the British Foreign Office from Sir Geoffrey Harington Thompson, British Ambassador to Siam, on toe best methods of promoting this collaboration. There is at the. momen no question of supplying British instructors or military advisers to the Siam-c-e Army.
