PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
NEW HALL OPENED AT NEW BRIGHTON
A new Sunday School and youth hall was opened by the Rev. R. Hay, convener of the Christchurch Youth Committee, at SL Enoch’s Presbyterian Church, New Brighton. The hall was built as a thanksgiving offering for the end of the recent war. There was a large attendance of ’ the congregation, former ministers, and friends of the church.
The Rev. J. Tennent read a dedication service, and unveiled a tablet in memory of members of the church who died in the recent war. and those who returned. Mr Hay dedicated a table and reading desk presented by Mr and Mrs Eaglesome and family, in memory of their daughter, Mrs Doris Hight. Other speakers were the Rev. Hugh Graham (moderator), who presided, the Rev. F. J. Smith, and Mr W. Hunter (session clerk).
