Claims of South Island.— The Mayor of Riccarton (Mr H. S. S. Kyle) was elected last evening to represent the council at a meeting on July 29 to discuss urging the Government to give more consideration to the advancement of the South Island. Otago Centennial Stamps.— Stocks of Otago centennial stamps held by the Post Office are practically exhausted. Any stocks on hand at the smaller offices will be withdrawn on July 31. The stock of stamps by the Custodian of Stamps. General Post Office, Wellington, is exhausted.
