MAN FATALLY INJURED
IDENTIFICATION DELAY (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 19. An unidentified man who received fatal injuries when he was knocked over by a motor-car in Queen street on Saturday night was identified at the Auckland Hospital to-day. He was William Samson Schroeder, aged 23, a Samoan, a freezing worker, of Eden terrace. Mr Schroeder died in hospital on Sunday morning without regaining consciousness. CHILD’S CLOTHING CATCHES FIRE MOTHER BURNED WHILE RESCUING HIM (P.A.) AUCKLAND. July 19. Burns to the back and tnighs were suffered by a seven-year-old boy when his dressing gown caught fire while he was standing in front of a fire at his home. He is Frank Leonard Denison, son of Mrs Mary Denison, of Mount Roskill. Mrs Denison rushed to help her son and managed to smother the flames, but received burns on the right hand. Both mother and child were admitted to hospital, but their condition to-night was not serious.
