LIKELY FAVOURITES AT WAIMATE Sporty Boy and Ben’s Son have shown some ability to be placed in their recent races, and they will probably dispute favouritism in the Winter Trot Handicap Bt the Waimate Hunt Club’s meeting tomorrow. , . , A four-year-old gelding by Wracluul from a Dominion mare, Sporty Boy, which is trained at Pleasant Point by J. J. Brophy, w’ho races him in partnership with Mr G. Taken -to the Oamaru Jockey Club s meeting on June 19, Sporty Boy gave two encouraging displays when he finished second to Squire Dillon in the first division of the Oamaru Handicap and third to Lumber Jack and Kildare in the third division of the Waikaura Handicap. By a successful sire in Sandydale, Sandy Logan is out of a good winner in Kid Lcgan, which took a mile record of 2min 8 2-ssec. The dam of a winner in Central Lass, Kid Logan is by Logan Pointer from Stanley’s Child, by Stanley, from a Highlander mare which was out of a Goldfinder mare. On the form he has shown this season.
