SOUTH CANTERBURY TEAM TO PLAY CANTERBURY A South Canterbury challenge has been accepted by the Canterbury Provincial Golf Association, and the match will be played at the Waitikiri links on August 8. Wilby. “THE PRESS” MATCH The newsroom staff of ‘The Press” beat the literary and advertising departments in a Stableford golf match played at Avondale yesterday for a trophy presented by Mr J. H. Rhodes. Scores were:— newsroom 199, literary 164, advertising 140. Two golf balls, presented by Slazengers for the best score, were won by R. E. Agassiz (newsroom).
