LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMMISSION
WAIMAIRI CASE Submissions by the Waimalrl County Council to the Local Government Commission next month will not be published before the commission sits. This was decided by the eouneil last evening, when Cr, H. Kitson said: "The councifs case is not for publication in any shape or form before the hearing by the commission.” The minutes of a special committee meeting were adopted by the council. They recommended that the council's case should be developed oh the lines set out in a draft submitted by the county clerk (Mr H. A. Ferguson), and that there should be included the fire service arrangement in Fendalton, public amenities, rating comparison, and the effect of the burden on remaining areas where built-up areas were amalgamated with the city.
