216 KILLED IN U.S. AIRLINE CRASHES
WORST YEAR’S DEATHROLL ON RECORD (Rec. 7 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 28. So far in 1947, 216 passengers and members of crews have been killed in United States domestic airline accidents. The total is more than twice as many as in any of the previous 19 years of commercial aviation. This year’s deaths occurred in five accidents.
