AUSTRALIANS BEAT LLANELLY
LAST-MINUTE VICTORY IN ROUGH MATCH LONDON, October 28. The Australian Rugby Union touring team beat Llanelly 6-4. There was no score at half-time. The Wallabies snatched a last-minute victory in a rough match. Australia was down 3-4 a minute before time, when Mcßride tqok a high punt and raced upfield for a try as the bell rang. The Wallabies scored ’their first points 25 minutes after the interval, when Howell forced his way over the line. The referee (Mr Ivor David) spoke to both packs, and a few minutes later Windon, the Wallabies’ vice-captain was ordered off the field. The manager (Mr Tancred) went on the field and spoke to the referee. Reuters gives no details and refers only to a “regrettable incident.” Police escorted the teams from the field at the end of the game.
