Super, arrived in Christchurch’ yesterday on his - way to Wingatui. A three-year-old brown colt by Nearco, Super has been imported by the Southland studmaster, Mr A. Chisholm, of Otautau. Super looks a nice colt and stands about 16.2 hands. He has stood the journey well, and if he becomes acclimatised satisfactorily he may be given a race or two before he goes to the stud. Super was bred by Lord Portal, and his dam is the Irish Oaks winner, Superbe, by Bosworth (by Son-in-Law) from Surbine, by Bachelor’s Double from Datine, by Roi Herode from Cyrilla, by Cyßene. Ladyship’s Easy Win Making her first appearance as a three-year-old and also her first for her Indian owner, the Maharajah of Kashmir, for whom she was purchased at a substantial figure several months ago. Ladyship beat the open sprinters very easily in the Wairongomai Handicap at Otaki last Saturday. Ladyship was in forward condition and found the holding course to her liking. Ladyship was purchased at Trentham as a yearling for 850 guineas by Sir James Fletcher and Mr J. C. Fletcher, and

as a two-year-old won three races’, including the Great Northern Champagne Stakes. A light-fleshed filly by Foxbridge from Foreign Queen, a mare that won the Wellesley Stakes and the Wanganui Guineas. Ladyship will have her next race in the Desert Gold Stakes. Her performance last Saturday suggested that she will run ou| a mile satisfactorily. Out of Hack Company Triumphal has token a long time to win his way into open company, but the manner in which he accounted for the hack field in the Milburn Handicap at Wingatui last Saturday suggested that he will hold his own in the higher grade on heavy tracks. Triumphal was patiently handled by the young apprentice, B. Southee, who was having only his eighth ride in a race. After being slow away, Southee took his time in working Triumphal forward, end won with a well-timed run in the straight. Triumphal is a seven-year-old gelding by Irish Lancer from Real Glad, the dam of two useful performers in Norseman and High Glee, and is raced by his trainer, J. A. White, of Wingatui.
