PREPARATION OF WOOL FOR SALES
Sir.—The growers of wool are strongly advised to see that their wool is well skirted and dressed for the market I would refer all our woolgrowers to an article of advice m ‘‘The Press” of September 17, and suggest that they study carefully the report given by the Wool Disposal Commission,” particularly its reference to the margin of prices between the well prepared and classed wool clip, against the wool which is gently given no care and attention, in order to prepare the wool- to the best advantage it is most essential to have a competent man at the wool table to direct the skirting and dressing of the fleeces as they come to the table. Some wool-sheds have not the necessary “bins” for the various grades of' wool and this causes mixtures of varieties that should not happen.— Yours, etc., JAS . Belfast, October 3. 1947.
