HAVANA CONFERENCE ON TRADE
invitation refused BY RUSSIA
(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, October 2. Russia has refused an invitation to the United Nations Trade and Employment Conference at Havana on November 21 oh the grouhd that it has not yet had time to study the questions involved. This was disclosed to-day by Mr Eric Wyndham-White, executive secretary of the preparatory committee. He added that the trade delegations at Geneva had opened in April 108 different sets of tariff negotiations, and this week nearly 60 had been completed, while a considerable number was in the final stages.
