Pulitzer Commemoration Stamp.— A purple 3-cent stamp issued in the United States to mark the centenary of the birth of Joseph Pulitzer, a famous American newspaper proprietor, has been received by a resident of Sumner. The stamp bears a portrait of Mr Pulitzer, who left a fund from which prizes are awarded annually for distinguished reporting, editorial, play, and novel writing, and the motto: “Our public and its press will rise or fall together.”
