N.Z. CONTRACT BRIDGE CHAMPIONSHIP
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. The New Zealand Contract Bridge Association’s 1947 pairs championship competition for the Allard Cup resulted in a win for Mrs Hunter and Mrs Rutherford, Palmerston North. They obtained 1522 points out of a possible 2500 The contest is played every year, qualified pairs from all affiliated clubs playing 100 hands on the duplicate match point scoring system. Mr N. Mitchell and Mr B. Bell, Auckland, were second, 56 points behind the winning pair, and Mr and Mrs M. Morris, Wanganui, were third.
