WORLD WEEK FOR ANIMALS
World week for animals is being observed in Christchurch in conjunction with a drive by the Anti-Vivisection Society for signatures to a petition for the abolition of vivisection in New Zealand. The society plans to present this petition to Parliament after it has been sent round the other centres in the Dominion.
The week’s activities are timed to conclude on the day of remembrance for St. Francis of Assisi which falls on October 4. Animal welfare organisations in Christchurch have formed a combined committee to direct the week’s events.
