NYALLO SCOTT WINS FERGUSON HANDICAP

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, September 28. The Auckland Trotting Club’s September meeting was concluded yesterday in fine weather before an attendance of 19,000. The track was in good order. Fan tom, in winning the Putiki Handicap to defeat a field of good pacers, trotted two miles in 4min 25sec, a course record for a trotter. Nyallo Scott returned 4min 20sec to win the Ferguson Handicap from the 96 yards mark. ' The totalisator handled £154,260 10s, against £132,713 the previous Saturday, an increase of £21,547 10s. There was no second day last September. As a result of a collision between Sandiways and Durato in the Franklin Handicap, W. E. Cockbill, the driver of Durato, was taken to hospital suffering from fractured ribs. The finding of the judicial stewards was that the wheels of Minoru’s and Durato’s sulkies became entangled. Cockbill being unseated, and Sandiways went over him. The collision was accidental. Don Acron and Haste collided in the Devonport Handicap and badly checked Amber Light.
