DUMPING OF FISH
Sir,—The “Empire News” of Sunday, ‘June 1, 1947, reports: “Twenty-five thousand stone out of a total of 75,000 stone of fish landed yesterday at Fleetwood was sent to the fish meal works because of the glutted state of the market. On the Friday 40,000 stone were similarly dealt with. One Faroe trawler is in Fleetwood docks with 20.00 H stone aboard.” On Friday, June 15, it was reported: ‘Strong criticism was made of Fraserburgh fishermen in dumping about tona of herring surplus to market re-? ouirements back into the sea yesterday. They have also decided to suspend indefinitely fishing from the port.” People at home are sick of fish.— V-mrs, etc., ANOTHER BRITISH BRIDE. August 29, 1947.
