KING ABDULLAH’S PLAN OPPOSED (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, August 28. “The recent proclamation by King Abdullgh qf Transjordan revealing a strong desire tq realise his Greater Syria scheme has caused concern in Syria and the Lebanon,” says the Beirut correspondent qf “The Times" “The Syrian Prime Minister (Jamil Marpum Bey) expressed to a press conference his regret that King Ab* dullah had raised the question at this critical moment, when Arab unity should be demonstrated. “He added that the Arab League had already shelved the Greater Syria scheme as being prejudicial to the Arabs, and its revival not only endangered Arab interests but showed the existence Qf foreign influence. King Abdullah’s declaration was misleading and doubtlegs served a foreign Power’s imperialistic interests.”
