COST OF BROKEN WINDOW MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE “When the council leases those grounds to us they are responsible for any damage done while a match is in progress,” said Mr F. S. Kiddey, referring to an account received, from the Christchurch City Council at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association last evening. The recount was submitted by the council for the replacement of a house window which was broken while a hockey match was in progress at Sydenham Park recently. “I broke a tram window in the same way some years ago, and it did not cost the club anything. Is Mr Andrews short of money?” said Mr Kiddey. It was decided to refer the matter back to the council. The treasurer (Mr E. H. Rogers) reported that the association’s finances showed a credit balance of £259 10s sd. The Canterbury second eleven will leave on its southern tour on September 2 and will play Timaru the same day.
