Cyclist Injured.—A cyclist, Dick Boon, of 79A Cashel street, was admitt: I to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 9.40 o’clock last evening suffering from head injuries received in an accident at the corner of Durham and Cashel streets. His condition early this morning was satisfactory. Mr J. A. Jackson, who was recently appointed assistant-superintendent of the Department of Labour and Employment at Dunedin, will leave Christchurch on Monday to take up that post. He was met yesterday by members of the staff of the department at Christchurch and given a presentation. Power interruption.—A power interruption just after midday indirectly caused the telephone at the Municipal Electricity Department, Christchurch, to set up a ceaseless clamour which only stopped when -the power was restored. Tram services were interrupted The break was reported to the Stare Hydro-electric Department at 12.19 p.m., and by 12.30 the service was fully restored. The break was caused by a fault in a high tension power line between Lake Coleridge and Hororata.
