RIGHT-HAND RULE
Sir,—l congratulate you for again attacking through your leader column the right-hand rule. It appears that the Government, not content with loading the motorist with an unreasonable share of taxation, is determined to make his lot as difficult as possible by enforcing a regulation which is, to say the least, confusing; and confusion means danger. One point that does not seem to be understood by the Transport Department is that traffic signals, no matter how carefully executed. are difficult to see in daylight. At night it is impossible. I trust that your effort will help to convince the department of its error and hurry the return to the old rule.—Yours, etc., SIMPLICITY FOR SAFETY. July 28, 1947.
