NASSELLA TUSSOCK

Sir, —The nassella tussock appears to have come to the end of its tether with the Government. Rightly so, too. If the Government is expected to eradicate nassella, why not also the millions of acres of gorse, blackberry, manuka, scrub, etc., not to mention rabbits. The board has managed to expend a considerable sum of the taxpayers* money, provide an inspector with a lucrative job, destroy no nassella. and incidentally bring ill-de-served notoriety to North Canterbury. We who have had long farming experience know that each district in New Zealand has its own particular problems.—Yours, etc., AS I SEE IT. July 28, 1947.
