ACCIDENTS

NAVAL STOKER MISSING (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 29. A naval stoker is missing, bel eved drowned, and another was admitted to the naval hospital at Devonport as a result of the capsize of a dinghy near the Stanley Bay Wharf, in the Auckland Harbour, at 11 o’clock last night. The missing stoker is William Evans, aged 22. of H.M.N.Z.S. Philomel. Stoker Jack Edgar Greasley. of the Philomel, is being treated for exposure and shock. Residents of Stanley Bay heard calls for help and several went to the wharf, where they assisted Stoker Greasley from the -rater. It appears that the men were rowing near the wharf when the boat overturned. CAR COLLIDES WITH TRAIN Colliding with a train at the Durham street crossing last evening, a .car was damaged, but no one was injured. The driver of the car was Harold Hector King, aged 43, of 49 Rose street, Somerfield, who suffered only slight scratches. The accident occurred about 8.45 p.m.

MAN KILLED AFTER GETTING OFF BUS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 29. Struck by a bus after he had alighted from it at Mangere, Reginald Victor Edwards, aged 57, was killed instantly to-day.
