BUS CONCESSIONS FOR BLIND PERSONS
« MINISTER’S REPLY TO QUESTION
(From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, July 23. A request from Mr J. T. Watts (Opposition, St, Albans) that the Railways Road Services should give concessions similar to those now given by the railways to blind travellers, was replied to in the House by the Minister of Railways (Mr R. Semple) to-day. Accommodation on road Services, comoared with trains, was very limited, Mr Semple said, and consequently the range of concessions was restricted. While the Government was sympathetically disposed to such p request, it felt that apy concession to blind persons should apply to all road services, both private and Government. The matter was one for consideration by transport licensing authorities, the Minister addnd.
