PLANE CRASH IN ARGENTINA

17 PERSONS KILLED; FIVE INJURED ACCIDENT DURING ARMY MANOEUVRES (Rec. 9 pun.) BUENOS AIRES, July 21. An Argentine Army transport aeroplane crashed to-day during Army manoeuvres. Seventeen persons were killed and five were injured, two of them including the pilot of the aeroplane, critically. Those killed included three civilian spectators of the manoeuvres, who were struck when the aeroplane plunged into the crowd. As the aeroplane fell, part of the cabin broke away, enabling some of the occupants to jump to safety. A demonstration in which 200 aircraft were scheduled to fly over the capital was cancelled after the crash. The flight had been arranged as part of the postponed Argentine Independence Day celebrations. . „ ~ Fire-fighters sent from the airfield to the scene of the crash were delayed in reaching the scene by a passing goods train.
