WESTERN ZONES OF GERMANY
LEVEL OF INDUSTRY TO CHANGE
EARLY STATEMENT PROMISED (Rec. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 2. The United States Secretary of State (General Marshall) said to-day that a new level of industry for western Germany would be announced soon. He would not elaborate, but press reports have said that the scheme envisages an increase in the production of various chemicals in the British and American zones and an increase in steel output in the Ruhr. These reports have also said that Britain and the United States intend to resume the removal of capital goods in the form of reparations.
