COLLISION WITH LINER

CRUISER CURACAO TO BLAME (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, January 21. An Admiralty Court found that the cruiser Curacao was responsible for the collision with the liner Queen Mary off the coast of Donegal in October, 1942, in which 25 officers and 313 of the Curacao’s crew lost their lives.

The Admiralty brought an action against the Cunard-White Star Line alleging negligence. The steamship company lodged a counter-action. The judge decided that the accident was solely due to the negligence •of the cruiser’s observers.
